Bem-vindo! Aulas de inglês ao vivo, através da Bíblia.
Grow your English inside the Book you already love.
A live, weekly small group where believers around the world read scripture aloud, build vocabulary, and discuss it — in English, among friends, with a real teacher.
This is how we read — try it
In the beginningbeginning = the start, the first moment · o princípio was the WordWord = here, a name for Christ; also: a unit of language — the very thing we practice · o Verbo / a palavra, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1 · World English Bible
Touch the red words. In class, we unpack them together — out loud.
How it works
One hour a week. One passage. All of us, out loud.
Scripture, aloud, in English
Each week we take one passage you probably already know in your own language — so your mind is free to work on the English, not the story.
Vocabulary that stays
A weekly reading pack gives you the passage in graded English, key vocabulary, and the phrases worth keeping. Yours forever.
Discussion, not lecture
Six people maximum. Everyone speaks, every week. Among fellow believers, it is safe to be a beginner. We practice language here, not doctrine — all Christian traditions are welcome.
Your teacher
Jonathan Hansen
M.Div. · B.D. · TEFL-certified · former pastor & hospital chaplain
I spent ten years in formal theological training in London and Texas, and served for years as a pastor in churches and hospitals. Today, teaching is my calling — I'm a certified English teacher, and this community brings both halves of my life together.
A teacher who knows why Romans 8 is hard to read aloud — and loves it anyway.
The founding group
Six weeks. Six seats. The Parables of Jesus.
- Six live one-hour sessions on Zoom, same day and time each week
- Maximum six learners — everyone speaks, every session
- Weekly reading pack: the passage, vocabulary, and discussion questions
- Best for intermediate learners (you can read this page — you're ready)
- Founding members keep a lifetime discount on everything that comes next
Only 6 seats in the founding group. First session begins [START_DATE].
For churches & institutions
Sponsor a learner the global church has already recognized as gifted.
Pastors, seminarians, and lay leaders across the world need English for their calling and cannot afford serious instruction. Your church, seminary, or mission board can give a sponsored seat — and at the end of six weeks, you'll receive a short report on the learner you served, with a few words from them, in English, to share with your congregation.
Invoices available for church and institutional records. Sponsorships are purchases of instruction, not tax-deductible donations.
Questions
The things people ask first
Is my English good enough?
If you can read this page, yes. The groups are designed for intermediate learners — people who understand English but want confidence speaking it. If you're unsure, write to me and we'll find out together in five minutes.
Which Christian tradition is this for?
All of them. Catholic, evangelical, Orthodox, Pentecostal, Anglican — we read the Bible together to learn English. We practice language here, not doctrine.
What Bible translation do you use?
The World English Bible — a clear, modern-language translation. You are welcome to keep your own Bible in your own language open beside it; in fact, that helps.
What time are the sessions?
The founding group meets once a week at a time chosen to work across the Americas and Europe. The exact schedule is confirmed with the group before we begin.
What if I miss a week?
Life happens. You'll have the reading pack either way, and I'll help you catch up before the next session.
